Arcadiac at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra

Roy Thompson Hall

The TSO has a videogame-related performance at Roy Thompson Hall coming up March 2nd:

The New Creations Festival hits the ground running with curator Tod Machover’s Jeux Deux, a dazzling interweaving of hyperpiano (disklavier), orchestra, interactive software, and live graphics. In the symphony-scale piece Alternative Energy, Mason Bates, Composer-in-Residence with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, depicts the past, present, and future of energy. In the playful Arcadiac, Nicole Lizée has the orchestra perform live accompaniment to vintage images from arcade games of the 1970s and 80s.

Two of our Torontrons will be making the scene as well before and after the performance on the 2nd, and also the 7th (featuring the music of Owen Pallett AKA Final Fantasy) and the 9th.

We have a pair of tickets to the March 2nd show to give away to the first Hand Eye Society member who emails us at info@handeyesociety.com. (Can you say last minute Valentine’s Day gift?) Update: These were snagged, but you can get $20 tickets with the promo code “NEW” over here.
