2010 Volunteer Possibilities

We had our first annual Hand Eye Society board meeting a few weeks back: goals were focused, dreams were dreamed, poutine was eaten. We had a great 2009 entirely thanks to the volunteer hours people put into it — please consider helping out this year, it’s amazing what we can do for videogame culture in the city if everyone pitches in a little!

We have some Gamercamp and TOJam plans in the works, but here’s a few ways to get involved on some of the other projects now, namely the Socials and Torontron

Torontron at Nuit Blanche: We will be putting a proposal together in the next few weeks to present the indie arcade cabinet — or potentially, several cabinets — at the all night art thing in October. Have any experience writing proposals?

Torontron deployment: We’ve got a few venues lined up for the Torontron to visit, but we could use more ideas and contacts for places it could be available to the public for free play. Also, if you have access to a large vehicle or a pair of strong arms we also need help with moving it.

DJ for the Socials: Figure you can put together an interesting playlist and bring your mp3 player to the Socials? You might be our DJ!

Hand Eye Society Photographer: We need someone who can snap some pics at the Socials and other events and post them on the site afterwards.

Email me to let me know what sounds good and I’ll give you more details.
