Gamercamp 10 Days Away!

Jaime Woo from Gamercamp gives us the deets on the next (and last!) weekend playfest…
Gamercamp is coming next weekend October 17 to 19! Toronto is well-known around the world for its fantastic games, and once a year we come together for Gamercamp, a chance to celebrate the amazing talent in our city. You can hear inspiring talks from them at our Conference, and also play homegrown games at the Pop-Up Arcade. It’s a time to support our local artists and developers and also discover the new talent bubbling up every day.

But the festival is not just about us Torontonians. It’s about welcoming guests to our great city. For 2014, we welcome Ubisoft Montreal’s Brie Code, the lead programming of the dazzling Child Of Light, as well as French indie developers Emeric Thoa of Game Bakers and Nadim Haddad of Pastagames. We also welcome folks from Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, New York, Philadelphia, and more. Gamercamp is an opportunity to bring the games world into our city.

We hope you’ll join us and explore 40 unique games from across North America and Europe. You can discover cool games you won’t find at your local games store like the Oculus game Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, which puts you in an 1990s action film defusing a bomb with a team, or Mouffe, a whimsical game played inside a tent with an interactive quilt. You can support awesome local games including N++, Runbow, SSMP, Rollers In The Realm, Apotheon, Knight & Damsel, Phantom PI, and Pixel Garden.

There’s something for everyone, and everyone is welcome. This will be the sixth and final year of Gamercamp. If you’ve heard about it and wondered what it is about, we invite you to come down to Hotel Ocho and check it out. We bet you’ll leave inspired and with a few new memories.
