Hey everyone, welcome to the Hand Eye Society. As you’ll see along the right sidebar, we now have 15 members, almost ten of those being new folks from the past few days. (You can hover for their bio info.) Hope to meet those of you I don’t know at the Social tomorrow.

We’re hoping you’ll use this site to discuss the cultural side of games — to talk about your latest inspirations, the most exciting tools and resources, and to let other folks know about Toronto game related events. Or just to chit-chat.

At the moment, any member can post, and all the posts also get emailed out to folks (unless they’ve unchecked it in their Profile->Subscriptions). Depending on how people like it, this might change. Comments on posts aren’t emailed out generally, though you can check the followup box after the comment field to see if anyone responds to your comment.

But enough about that: Anyone else going to the Game Developers Conference? I almost wasn’t, but now I am, and I just bought my tickets for San Francisco!

I haven’t been in years, 2005 was the last one I was at, so — any tips? Anything people are stoked about checking out? Any memories of favourite GDC moments?

Bit of scuttlebutt I heard is that the more corporate parties are happening the weekend before, the more indie/experimental crowd has theirs the weekend after.
