Provocative Fun Achieved at First Social
The first Social worked out swell, with a rather dense crowd of gamemakers and enthusiasts descending on Parkdale’s Unit bar.

Thanks to everyone who came out, especially our presenter Paolo from Molleindustria who took us through his controversial and thought-provoking games with exclamations like, “I will destroy the credibility of your industry!” after a particularly unsavoury shot from Operation Pedopriest.
To be notified about the next Social in April ‘09, register and optionally become a member.

This was a great event and a promising start to the Hand Eye Society!
Paolo’s approach seems to differ from most videogame creators in that he’s much more concerned with accurately representing systems of meaning (and much less concerned with traditional ideas of entertainment and narrative). As a result, it would appear that his videogames are genuinely noteworthy and topical in the eyes of society – often a good thing! Hopefully his star will continue to rise.
The social itself seemed great too. It was quite the crowd! If this type of thing keeps rolling along we’ll have quite the meshed videogame community before too long!

“Operation Pedopriest” was certainly something to be remembered.
