    Hello,

C/C++/C#/Java/J2ME/Lua Programmer, can’t do art, I can do AS2/AS3, but I despise the actual flash interface, but the actual coding part I’m very talented at.

I would prefer to work in a C-based language but if you have a project I have a wide variety of skills, everything from AI and Physics to console games and robotics.

    Sound Designer: Pitch Me!
I’d like to get some experience working on games. My background is film, theatre, radio and gallery installation. I’m willing to do “small” (does such a thing really exist) projects for free or on spec. Note: I am not a musician/composer I work with sound effects, dialogue and occasional music recording and editing. The important thing is the time involved. Pitch me! I’m a good listener.

    Help Wanted:

I am interested in making the USB controller mod for my NES controllers. As seen at the last Hand Eye Social.

Rather than order the kits online I had hoped to build it myself, but to do this I would need a PIC programmer and expertise which I have neither. Is there anyone in Toronto with a PIC programmer able to program a PIC18F2455 microcontroller as well as offer some insight. I am aware of retrousb/retrozone kits but I don’t exactly want to go that route. But perhaps if more people are interested then we could split the costs.
    Thanks,
    Jamie

  • By Fernando Restituto, November 21, 2010 @ 12:14 pm

Hey there, my name’s Fernando and I’ve been working on a turn based strategy card game for nearly 5 years. It’s done except for a few small details and it’s in publishing review with Microsoft. There is something of a final battle left, its name is BALANCING. I’m looking for pro gamers, diamond leaguers, or experienced strategy gamers.

Please if you know anyone who is a master strategist that wants to break into the game industry in a way that would tap into their skill set pass this on to them!

My game is called The Art of Tactics(TAoT) and you can learn more about it/download it @ http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=317017726841&v=wall

If you can connect with these kinds of questions and you would like a job working on TAoT as a designer then I would love to meet you :)
    (Concerning Balancing)
Do you have a well cultivated sensitivity to the way power in a game flows through its transitions? Could you make and balance a map of power? The illusion of imbalance is fun, how would you make balanced imbal?
    (Concerning Vision)
How would you make gameplay more responsive opposed to proactive? If “a game is a series of challenges” (Sid Meier) and this is the first generation to pioneer the art of making challenges in what new direction will we see challenges evolve or merge with other challenges?
    (expressed through music)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs-m2lA59iM
Can you hear it? Again I would love to at the very least meet you.

I am operating on a very small amount of time before market release.

Bioshock Meets 30′ Towers of Fire for Nuit Blanche – Want to Help?

The City of Toronto has asked that we mount The Heart Machine (THM) for Nuit Blanche 2011 as an exhibition piece. THM was showcased at Burning Man 2010, is 70′ in diameter, takes 5 – 20 participants to make it work and shoots 8 x 30′ towers of fire; think “Bioshock” meets interactive fire art.

To do this for October in Toronto, the original core interaction team needs 1-3 strong embedded systems gurus to join us for 40 – 50 hours of work spread across Apr. – Sept. on v2 of the system. We also have a C&C34 available to us for a few “on the water” sailing team meetings on Toronto island.

If you have strong embedded systems or electrical engineering skills, please email me at christine ( dot ) irving ( at ) gmail ( dot ) com with a subject line: “The Heart Machine Technology”.

Our plan is to blow the minds of Toronto residents with some very loud and fiery interactive art that keeps everyone warm while getting strangers to work together to make fire.
