Twining While Black: Interactive Fiction Writer’s Circle

TWINING WHILE BLACK

Are you a Black creative interested in digital storytelling? Writing While Black is partnering with Hand Eye Society to bring you an interactive narrative workshop! Participants will use Twine, an open-source tool for creating a non-linear, choose-your-own-adventure style video game. Learn from a game designer and professional writer on how to build your very own branching narrative story, as well as techniques for developing your voice and staying inspired. At the end of the workshop, you will walk away with a copy of your game, basic HTML knowledge, and ideas for your future digital storytelling projects. This is an introductory workshop; no coding or gaming experience required! Experienced Black writers and game-makers are more than welcome to share their craft, and help grow the Black interactive fiction community.

This workshop is a Closed Black Space. Non-Black writers can look forward to announcements about WordPlay 2018 soon.
